All of the ReStyle™ products incorporate recycled tire tubes that were otherwise destined to be incinerated (toxic!) or sent to a landfill. We work with local tire vendors in Bogota to source our tire tubes. After they are collected, our artisan partners from the Fair Trade group Sapia clean and process the tubes to then turn them into incredible products.
- Tire tubes are collected from discarded truck, car and bicycle tires - many have unique markings or textures that make each finished piece one of a kind.
- Each recycled tire tube is cut open and thoroughly washed by hand and inspected for quality
- Yolanda and Dona Rosa stand next to drying tire tubes that are almost ready to be transformed into ReStyle products.
- Final ReStyle products are hand-stitched and fabulous. The recycled tire tube is extremely durable, sheds water and wears well over time.
