Anna Cecilia

Anna Cecilia and Yanira

Anna Cecilia has 2 daughters, Hazel Denise (1 ½ years) and Karen (11 years).  Before working with Arte Comasagua Anna Cecilia traveled to San Salvador each day to clean houses for work, often staying in the city overnight to avoid the long commute.

Now she can take care of her kids, husband and house while also earning an income.

Anna Cecilia stopped school after the 6th grade and wants to make sure her daughters have the ability to stay in school.  “I want my daughter to study at the highest level so she can have more opportunities than I had.”

Working locally for Arte Comasagua has been a great change for her. “I enjoy working with my friends. I get to be creative and work with people I love and enjoy. Work is fun for me!”

Yanira

Yanira creating some new designs

Yanira is married, and like Cecilia, her husband commutes to San Salvador each day for work, leaving a lot of responsibility to her. “I like being able to work locally so I can take care everything I need to here without having to commute to the city each day. My life is much less stressful than before.”

“I love working with Arte Comasagua since I like to use my mind and create new designs. This work allows me to dream in flowers and create with my imagination.”
